Inclinometers are now standard components in mobile applications. GEMAC, a long time specialist for inclination and inertial sensors, now launches a new product family of high precision dynamic inclination sensors : the Inertial Measurement System IMU+.
The new system enables 6‑axis motion detection based on raw data acquisition for acceleration (3‑axis) and rotation rate (3‑axis). In the sensor, high-precision data processing carried out using a sophisticated sensor fusion algorithm. Integrated sensor fusion filters help in orientation calculation by suppressing externally acting accelerations. IMU+ offers the decisive advantage that, in addition to the raw data for acceleration and rotation rate, it can also output internally calculated values such as tilt or rotation angle in different axes. They are thus enabling it to detect and analyze deviations even faster in the future.
The internal combination and calculation of all measured values make it possible to integrate one measuring system instead of several. Also, both static and dynamic accuracy has significantly improved once again compared to the existing sensors.
